Divide the lawn into 2 rectangles. One rectangle has dimensions, 5ft and 4 ft.

The other rectangle has dimensions 6 ft and 4 ft. The total area of the new lawn is the sum of the areas of the 2 rectangles.

Total area =
5*4+6*4=44 \;square\; feet
