Range of motions of molecules is inversely proportional to the intermolecular forces present between the molecules. Stronger the intermolecular interactions the smaller is the range of motions and vice versa.

Step-by-step explanation:
As we know that the particles of solids did not change their position, the nuclei are stationary and only vibrate. This is due to strong intermolecular or interatomic interactions between the molecules or atoms of solid.
On the other hand the molecules of liquids can move and slide over each other in the form of layers. Their exist a strong interactions but these interactions are weaker than solids and stronger than gases.
