The constitution of Texas and the USA are similar in that they provide for a separation of powers, checks and balances, and a bill of rights. The concept of federalism is also embodied in both documents.

separation of powers is important because it help establish the independence of institution, while also putting into place systems of checks and balances that prevent impunity. the bill of rights is a fundamental aspect of the society as rights are inherent.
