what is the mean for the data set 582, 505, 548, 578, 511, 506, 521, 546, 570. express your answer as a decimal to the nearest tenth

The answer is 540.8





To find the mean all you have to do is add all the numbers together then divide that by how many numbers there are

The mean can be calculated by adding all of the values and dividing the sum by the number of values:

582 + 505 + 548 + 578 + 511 + 506 + 521 + 546 + 570 = 4867

There are 9 values.

4867 ÷ 9 ≈ 540.78 ≈ 540.8

The mean is about 540.78, or, rounded to the nearest tenth, 540.8.
