area of square = 4 x 4 = 16 m^2
area of circular rug = 3.14 x 1.5 x 1.5 = 7.065 m^2

area will not be covered = 16 m^2 - 7.065 m^2 = 8.935 m^2

answer

8.935 m^2

Hello!

First you have to find the area of the floor

To do this you multiply the sides

4 * 4 = 16

Next you find the area of the rug which is a circle

The equation for this is A =
\pi r^(2)

r is radius

Put in the values you know

A = \pi 1.5^(2)

A = 7.07

Subtract this by the area of the floor

16 - 7.07 = 8.93

The answer is 8.93m squared

Hope this helps!
