In a sample of 60 diners at a restaurant, 12 had ordered an appetizer. If the restaurant serves 800 diners each day, how many are likely to order an appetizer?

There are 160 people who are likely to order an appetizer.

In order to find this, you first divide 60 by 12 to get 5. This means 1 out of every 5 people buys an appetizer, so to find how many out of 800 buy an appetizer, you divide 800 by 5. Thus getting 160 as an answer.

I hope this helps!
