Answer:

The relationship between two variables is decreasing and linear.

Explanation:

From the given table it is notice that the function passing through the points (1,5), (2,-1), (3,-7) and (4,-13).

Slope of the function between first two points (1,5) and (2,-1) is

m_1=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)=(-1-5)/(2-1)=-6

Slope of the function between last two points (3,-7) and (4,-13) is

m_2=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)=(-13+7)/(4-3)=-6

The rate of change or slope of the function is constant.

From the given table it is noticed that the values of y decreased by 6 units as the values of x increased by 1 units.

Since the rate of change constant and negative, therefore the relationship between two variables is decreasing and linear.
