1- You have that the length of the wire is 7 meters and the angle of depression is 47 degrees. Therefore, you have:
Cosα=adjacent/hypotenuse
α=47°
adjacent=x
hypotenuse=7
2- When you substitute the values above, you obtain:
Cod(47°)=x/7
3-Solve for x as following:
x=7[Cos(47°)]
x=4.8
The answer is: 4.8 meters
