Hey there!

1(1)/(4) + 2 (1)/(6) + 2 (1)/(2) \\ = (5)/(4) + (13)/(6) + (5)/(2) \\ = (15)/(12) + (26)/(12) + (30)/(12) \\ = (71)/(12) \\ = 5 (11)/(12)

After rounding off, it would be about 6 miles.

Answer is D.

Hope this helps. - M
