let
b-----> the area of the base
h-----> the height of the pyramid
we know that
volume of a pyramid=(1/3)*area of the base*height
so
volume=(1/3)*b*h-------> 3*volume=b*h
therefore
the term b*h represents three times the volume of the pyramid
