Area of a parallelogram(A) = base(b) * height(h)

A = b * h

294 = b * 14.7

294 = 14.7b

Divide both sides by 14.7 to make b stand alone

So, it would be:

294/14.7 = 14.7b/14.7

20 = b

b = 20
