For the Minoans, the land was very mountainous. This served as protection. Also, they had large shores, which meant a large body of water. This allowed fishing as a food source.

Hope this helps! :)

The Minoan civilization was located in Crete, an island. There they developed a large civilization that was based on navy and trade.

The Mycenae invaded Crete and adopted many habits from the Minoans. They developed trade throghout the Mediterranean, with this they built large ships and traveled to other places like Egypt.

The geographic characteristics influenced both civilizations heavily because they were located close to the sea and this pushed them to become good at trade by sea, which caused them to be sucessfull for a while and develop their own civilization.
