The Correct answer is Roy Wilkins.

Roy Wilkins was a prominent civil rights activist in the United States from 1930's to 1970's.

He is best known for his activity in the NAACP where he worked as an assistant secretary. When W.E.B. Du Bois left the organization in 1934, Wilkins replaced him as editor of Crisis, the official magazine of the NAACP.

Wikins believed in achieving reform by legislative means, he testified before many Congressional hearings and he strongly opposed militancy in the movement for civil rights.

NAACP was formed in 1909, with a main aim of advancing justice for african Americans. It rose in opposition to the Jim crow laws that had severely segregated life especially in the deep south. The founders were bi-racial.
