The area of a sheet of plywood is:
A1 = (4) * (8)
A1 = 32 feet ^ 2
The area of the box is given by:
A2 = (16) * (8) + (2) * (16)
A2 = 160 feet ^ 2
The number of sheets of plywood is:
N = A2 / A1
N = 160/32
N = 5
Answer:
a carpenter will need 5 sheets of plywood to build the box.
