1. The first reason is the habitat of every species or organism. These species may tribe in areas unknown or unreachable to men. Especially the underwater creatures since we only discovered less than 20% of our ocean. Only the surface can be seen in google earth.
2. It is most likely that these myths are given something more big in order to create a more powerful story, myths about some animals and some animals that may have changed habitat. So, these myths can be a guide.
3. These are just logical explanations and no scientific studies or what so ever has been done. Anything that can't be physically seen by science can still make fear to people.
4. Having known people, anything that gives them satisfaction or peace or wealth, they will devastate it. I'll keep it a secret because only those who truly wants to achieve peace and tranquility will have the perseverance to look for it.
5. Well, these urban legends can be very terrifying even if these are just stories. It hinders some to do these acts or even live in these places.

1. There are few reasons for such a develepment. Firstly, it comes down to a habitat of the species. Satellite imagery and Google Earth-like programs can't help you if you are looking for underwater species. Also species that live in the forests also cannot be captured and seen through the thick foliage by the satellite capturing. The other important thing is the timing. The satellites do not capture images all the time. To catch a new species in the exact moment that the satellite takes a picture is a really hard thing to accomplish.

2. There is an old saying that says that in all of the myths there is a hint of truth. Though that is correct on the metaphorical level it can also be truth in a more physical sense. Many mythological monsters are based on real life animal species or their abnormal members such as larger than usual alligators or some types of fish. So by studying the myths the scientists can find actual species that inspired the stories.

3. A good story is hard to move on from. The myths and legends of the Bermuda triangle are passed down from generation to generation and you can say they are so famous that they are part of our culture. Plus it is a real life place that is so extraordinary that just begs to be mythologized. Some people actually want to believe there are some things that cannot be explained and are magical. Plus there is a fear and the excitement of the unknown which is perfectly exemplified by the Bermuda Triangle.

4. This is a really difficult question but I believe telling about ultimately would be what I would do. This comes from my belief that such a discovery would benefit mankind as a whole and could improve everyone's lives for the better. We could see from that society how to solve the problems that are plaguing us today. On the other hand however, it is possible that the contact with the outside world could harm the utopian society, as some would seek to exploit it to their own ends. That is why this is a tricky thing to decide on.

5.Urban legends are stories that like many legends of the past intrigue and entertain the people. But they can distort the facts and be distracting at best and dangerous at the worst. Slanderman is one of the more famous urban myths and legends that has become a global phenomena but it was also super scary for the people that did not know it was just and urban legend. Also some urban legends may make people try and verify them potentially bringing themselves into dangerous situations over something that does not exist.
