well we know it is a 90 degree angle, so both sides would equal 90 degree's. lets use that to our advantage.
You would combine both sides, 2x-2 and x+5, and it would look like this: 3x+3
now, because we know it will equal 90 degrees, let add that in, shall we?
3x + 3 = 90
now we have the start to our problem. Lets continue.
because 3 does not have an x, lets get rid of that so we can figure out what x equals.
3x + 3 = 90
-3 -3
----------------
3x = 87
now, lets divide 3 by both sides so we know what x equals.
3x/3 = 87/3
x = 29
I'm not 100% sure this the answer, i wouldn't trust me. today im not doing well in math

A triangle’s angles all add up to 180 degrees. That square in the corner of the triangle indicates that that angle measures 90 degrees, which means that the other two degree measures we’re finding has to add up to 90. So the equation we’ll be using is x+5+2x-2=90.

1. Add the like terms, so you get 3x+3=90.
2. Subtract 3 from both sides to get 3x=87.
3. Divide both sides to get x alone, so you get x=29.

The final answer is x=29.
