Roy Baumeister and Kathleen Vohs identified four needs of the meaningful life: 1. need for purpose - purposes consist of goals and achievements. 2. need for values - helps people to separate right from wrong. 3. need for the sense of efficacy - people believe that they have the power to change their environment. 4. need for self-worth - people want to become good people.
In our question, the third need (need for the sense of efficacy) is the correct answer.
