by Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

C. hate and love are like fire and ice

Answer:

D. either hatred or desire will destroy the world

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the given poem by Robert Frost, he talks about how the world could either end by fire or ice and by what he has tasted of desire, he would agree with people that believe the world will end by fire.

However, he knows enough of hate to agree with people that believe it will end in ice.

Therefore, the main idea of the poem is that either hatred or desire will destroy the world
