Water harvesting, the collection of rainfall and run off for future use, has been practiced for thousands of years; but in some regions where it was previously used it has been forgotten. In countries facing huge problems with land erosion due to runoff, governments have been encouraging the implementation of this technique. The implementation is important for more than prevention of water erosion. What other benefit might water harvesting have in these areasscience

Answer:

To provide clean drinking water in areas where there is no ground water or it is contaminated.

Step-by-step explanation:

Rainwater can be reused in a number of ways where with a rainwater catchment system it is entirely possible to reduce the use of drinking water as well as expenses, not to mention flood reduction, flooding, future water rationing, and still help the environment with that.

In addition to allowing the drinking water economy, rainwater capture is extremely important in places where water is contaminated or drought punishes almost the whole year and water scarcity ends up being frequent as is the case of countries like Africa for example.
