Mitochondria is part of most Eukaryotic cells, (however are not part of some).

The main job of Mitochondria is to perform cellular respiration. Cellular respiration is when it takes nutrients from the cells, breaks them down, and turns them into energy.

The mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell. It produces the cell's energy and regulates the cellular metabolism. Mitochondrion (the plural of Mitochondria) are only found in eukaryotic cells.
