1. The probability P of an event and its complement P' are mutually exclusive and add up to 1

2. If the probability of an event is 0.3, then the probability of its complement is 0.7. (1 - 0.3 = 0.7)

= 1 - 0.3
= 0.7

Ratio is 0.3 to 0.7 or 3 to 7
