Note the equal sign. What you do to one side you do to the other.
Isolate the x, subtract 4.7 from both sides
x + 4.7 = - 9.2
x + 4.7 (-4.7) = - 9.2 (-4.7)
x = -9.2 - 4.7
x = -13.9
-13.9
