To have a better life for them and their children. America is marketed as the land of opportunities.

Answer:

To seek a better life.

Step-by-step explanation:

The United States is seen as the land of unlimited possibilities by many. It is also seen as a free land, not at war with anybody, and as a country with constitutionally guaranteed civil and political rights.

Most people who immigrate to the States are in some kind of danger. They may come from a war-worn country as Syria, for example, where a normal life is difficult. They may be refugees fleeing a dictatorial regime in Africa or they may be prosecuted for their religious or political views.

All of them have one goal: to make a better and safer life for them and their children.
