Imaging radar has given archaeologists "x-ray vision" and helped them locate sites such as the Lost City of Ubar, which was hidden in the sands of the Sahara Desert, and Angkor, and ancient Cambodian kingdom hidden for centuries under the dense tropical forests which covered it.
