Factor out -1

0=-1(x^2+x-6)

divide both sides by -1

x^2 +x -6=0, factor x^2 +x-6

product is -6 and sum +1

3* (-2) = -6

3-2= 1

so factors are 3 and -2

x^2 +x -6=0

(x+3)(x-2)=0

Set each factor =0 and solve for x

x+3 =0 , so x=-3

x-2=0, so x= 2

Roots are -3, 2
