Strictly speaking, when an object acquires a positive charge by the transfer of electrons, what happens to its mass? (think small.)

An electron is 1/1836 of the mass of the proton. So, losing that little mass (0.51 MeV/c2) or gaining it changes the overall mass, but so small that it is hard to detect. hope this helped!:)
