Use the polynomial remainder theorem. It states that division of
p(x) by some linear factor
x-c yields a remainder of
p(c).

In this case,
p(x)=5x^3+7x+5 and
c=-2, so the remainder is

p(-2)=5(-2)^3+7(-2)+5=-49
