Perimeter =P= 22in
Length =L= 3+W
Width = W

Perimeter = 2*L + 2*W
Plug in
22in=2*(3+W) + 2*W
22=6+2W+2W
22=6+4W
Subtract 6 from both side
16=4W
Divide 4 from both sides
4 =W
