A factory makes tissue boxes. When the net is folded to make the tissue box, the length is 25 cm, the width is 5 cm, and the height is 20 cm. How much cardboard material is used to make each tissue box?

A cardboard box is shaped like a rectangular prism.

To solve the above question, we apply the formula for Surface Area of a Rectangular Prism

A=2(wl+hl+hw)

Where

w = width = 5cm

I = length = 25cm

h = height = 20 cm

=2 × (5×25+20×25+20×5)

= 2(125 + 500 + 100)

= 2(725)

=1450 cm of cardboard material should be used.
