Deidra is speaking with a waiter at a restaurant. Their dialogue is shown at right. What communication style is Deidra using with the waiter?

Deidra: Excuse me. Hello. I just tried my pasta primavera. I'm terribly sorry, but this dish is very bitter and doesn't taste quite right. I have a feeling it's because of the eggplant.

Waiter: Ma'am, the primavera comes with ten different vegetables. I doubt that you can distinguish the flavor of the egglplant. The primavera is more of an acquired taste. I think you'll get used to it after a few bites.

Deidra: Yes, I understand the complexity of the dish. But I'm a regular here, and I've ordered the primavera on several occasions. The dish usually does not taste this way. It's definitely off. I can't eat another bite of this. I would really appreciate it if you could please substitute another meal for this one.

Answer:

Assertive is correct. Deidra is direct and open in getting her point across to the waiter. This is assertive communication.

Of the 5 communication styles the one I thing would be best fit Deidra’s dialogue is Assertive. She is not being aggressive, she is not being submissive, she is not being muniplative , she I said not being passive aggressive so I think it’s assertive.
