“The Lady of Shalott” tells the story of a woman that is cursed, she cannot see Camelot with her own eyes she should always use mirror and see the world through the reflection, at the end of the poem she dies pursuing her vision of Sir Lancelot. The philosophical belief about the individual and society express by Alfred, Lord Tennyson is that isolation from society can be both necessary and destructive.
