If you have this passage question:

I'm going out to clean the pasture spring;

I'll only stop to rake the leaves away

(And wait to watch the water clear, I may):

Which choice best describe the effect of figurative language on these line?

A. the author uses metaphor to compare the pasture spring and the water.

B. The author uses imagery to bring the images of a farm to life for the reader.

C. The author uses personification to give the leaves human traits.

D. The author uses symbolism to draw parallels between the spring and life.

***answer is: B***

I believe it is B. An academic voice is used by declarative statements. Very straightforward and clear without using fancy/complicated words.
