I've been in numerous situations where I've had a difference of opinion with my friends. One time in particular, I had a huge disagreement with my friend Cam. We still don't talk to this day.

Cam and I auditioned for the lead role in the school play when we were in the sixth grade. The drama teacher who judged the auditions was very impressed with my performance. The next day, the teacher posted the list of students selected for the play. I was shocked to see that Cam had landed the lead role.

I was disappointed, and I let it show. But Cam didn’t even try to make me feel better. We ended up having a big fight. I said that she wasn’t being a kind friend and that she didn’t seem to care about me. Cam argued that I was the one being a bad friend. She said I should be happy for her instead of angry that she got the lead role. I decided I could no longer be friends with her. We drifted apart.

Friends need to trust each other. I couldn’t trust Cam anymore, so our friendship ended.

A region of my city was going to go through a reforestation process and was calling for volunteers who could help in this process. When I heard about the need for volunteers, I thought it might be a good activity for me and my brothers to participate together, since we had free time and reforestation has a very noble goal.

I explained this to my brothers and told them where the reforested area would be, they didn't like the idea at first, but when I started explaining the importance of this type of project and how it would be beneficial for our city for the next generations, they agreed to participate, at least for a few hours.
