a monument stands at level ground. The angle of elevation to the top of the monument taken at a point 405 feet away is 32°. Find the height of the monument.

you need to find the hypotenuse of this “triangle”. if you draw it out, you are given the adjacent length, an angle and you have to find the hypotenuse. the formula for this is hypotenuse = adjacent / cos Ø
= 405 / cos(32)
= 477.5672534
= 477.57 ft (2dp)
