let x be the extra flour that Ava wants
x+1/8=3/4
add -1/8 both side
x=3/4-1/8
x=5/8
Ava needs 5/8 flour more to finish her receipe

she needs 5/8 cups of flour because you need to get a common denominator so 3/4 would equal 6/8 and 6/8 - 1/8 = 5/8
