In a parallelogram opposite sides are equal. So in your picture, you either have x + 1 = x + 1, or x + 8 = 2x - 1. Since the 1st equation will give you 0 = 0, which will not help at all. So you gave to do the other equation x + 8 = 2x - 1 or B
