Answer: y= -1/6x +1

We need to make an equation in slope intercept form. A model of this type of equation is: y=mx+b

Given the points, we can find the slope, which is the letter m in the model. Slope using points can be found using this equation: m= y2-y1/x2-x1

Let’s substitute the points into this equation and solve for the slope

-1- -2/12-18= 1/-6=-1/6

Let’s substitute this in for m

y=-1/6x+b

Now let’s solve for y-intercept, or the b. We’ll do this by choosing a point and substituting the y and x into the equation. This will not stay here, but will only be used while we solve for b.

-1=-1/6(12)+b

-1=-2+b
+2 +2
_____
1=b

Once we substitute this into b, out equation is complete. The equation is now y= -1/6x +1

This is your answer! Hope this helps comment below for more questions :)

Answer:

y = - 1/6x + 1

Explanation:

y = mx + b

m = (-1 - (-2)) / (12 - 18) = - 1 / 6

b = -2 - (-1/6) x 18 = 1

y = - 1/6x + 1
