I divided it into one rectangle in the center and two triangles.

Since both triangles are right triangles, I used the Pythagorean Theorem to get the side of the first triangle. 5^2 - 4^2 = a which then becomes 25 - 16 =

To get the area of this triangle, I used the equation (4 * 3) / 2 = 6

For the rectangle, I simply did 3 * 4 = 12

For the second triangle, I first subtracted 3 + 3 from 13 to get 7. I then did (7 * 4) / 2 = 14

Add all areas together and you get 32
