It's simple, just divide the smaller by the larger number. If you wanted to find, let's say, 25 out of 75 as a percent, you would just do this.

Explanation:

25 ÷ 75 = 0.3333

0.3333 x 100 = 33.33

Or 33.33%

Another example

12 ÷ 50 = 0.24

0.24 x 100 = 24

Or 24%
