Answer: -1/8

This is the equation for slope: m= rise/run

This relates to getting from one point to another. Rise is how many units you have to go up/down to get from the first point to the second. Run is how many units left and right to get from the same points.

We will be looking at points (4,1) and (-4,2)

You have to go up 1 point and over 8. This will be 1/8. But, since this is a negative slope (values are decreasing), our slope will be -1/8
