Eliza and Jamie are making cupcakes for a bake sale at school. Eliza need 2one third c of flour for her recipe, and Jamie needs 1three fourths c for her recipe. They have 4 c of flour. Do they have enough flour for both recipes? Explain.

No , they don't have enough flour for both recipes..

Explanation:

Because Eliza: have 2 1/3

Jamie have 3/4---> so total for both are 2 1/3+ 3/4 = 7/3 + 3/4=28/12+9/12=37/12 < 4 cups of flour that both have....so they don't have enough flour for both recipes.

You wouldn’t have enough because
when you add those to mixed numbers together you would get 4 and 1/12
