Answer:

7 DRINKS AND 5 PRETZELS

Explanation:

let he bought x pretzels and hence x+2 drinks

cost of x pretzels x×3.25 =3.25x

cost of x+2 drinks (x+2)×5.50 =5.50X+11

NOW SET THE EQUATION

3.25X+5.50X+11 =54.75

8.75X = 54.75-11

8.75X =43.75

X = 43.75/8.75

X= 5 THIS IS NUMBER OF PRETZELS

X+2= 7 THIS IS NUMBER OF DRINKS
