The difference in the weight of a 170-pound person on Venus and Mars will be 85 pounds.

Solution:

Given:

The weight of an object on Venus is about
(9)/(10) it's weight on Earth

The weight of an object on Mars is about
(2)/(5) it's weight on Earth.

To find: The difference in the weight of a 170-pound Person on Venus and Mars.

When somebody weighs 170-pound , then his weight on Venus will be as follows,

$(9)/(10) * 17=153\text{ pounds }

Then, his weight on Mars will be as follows,

$(2)/(5) * 170=68\text{ pounds }

On subtracting both the values we get,

$153-68=85\text{ pounds }

Therefore, the difference is 85 pounds.
