Procedure :

Take 20 ml of 0.1 M solution and add distilled water until reaches 100 ml

Further explanation

Given

0.1 M and 0.02 M solution

100 ml volumetric flask

Required

Diluting procedure

Solution

To find the initial volume that needs to be taken from the 0.1 M solution to be diluted, we can use the dilution formula

M₁V₁ = M₂V₂

0.1 M . V₁ = 0.02 M x 100 ml

V₁ = 20 ml

So we take 20 ml of 0.1 M solution with a pipette, put it into a volumetric flask and add distilled water until the volume reaches 100 ml
