Answer: Resolution refers to the number of pixels on horizontal and vertical axis that make up a screen. It is affects the clearness and quality of the visual content displayed on the LCD screen.

Explanation: The screen resolution tells how many pixels can be displayed on the screen at a time.

Pixel: Resolution is measured by number of pixels. The image on the screen comprises of many pixels. It is represented by a dot and is an important building unit of a digital image. These pixels make up images on the LCD screen. The greater the number of pixels, the higher will be the resolution.

When the resolution is higher the image becomes clearer and sharper. This makes the monitor easier to work with. So, display quality increases and the images size may become smaller because due to increased number of pixel. However it is expensive.

When the resolution is lower the image becomes less clear and text size increases.

Example: Some common monitor resolutions are 720 pixels, 1080 pixels, 4K (Ultra HD) 1440 pixels resolution etc. Display quality of 1080 p is higher than that of 720p as 1080 comes up with double number of pixels than 720p.
