You have 3 balls at the same height. 1 is throws at 45 degrees, 1 is thrown horizontally, 1 is thrown, 1 is thrown at -45 degrees. Rank them by the magnitude of their vertical component of velocity right before they hit the ground.

Answer:

So vertical velocity of ball first and third are same and of ball third less than first and second

v_(y1)=v_(y3)> v_(y2)

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the actual velocity of all balls are v

We have given three balls are thrown are different angle

First is thrown at an angle of 45 degree

So vertical velocity
v_y=vsin\Theta =vsin45^(\circ)=0.707v

Second ball is thrown horizontally

So vertical velocity
v_y=vsin\Theta =vsin0^(\circ)=0

Now last ball is thrown is at an angle of -45 degree 'So vertical velocity

v_y=vsin\Theta =vsin(-45)^(\circ)=-707v

Which magnitude is equal to 0.707 v

So vertical velocity of ball first and third are same and of ball third less than first and second

v_(y1)=v_(y3)> v_(y2)
