Based on the evidences left on the letters sent by the wives and women in general who wrote their daring issues while the conflict was going on, to their husbands, brothers and fathers, asking to return home and also letters sent to government officials and authorities describing their difficulties and solicting help, hunger and raiment deficiency were their biggest problems, therefore "Farming" was the number one challenge for those women and children who didn't own slaves in the region, having to carry out those labors by themselves with little experience so they needed to strive to adapt and survive.
