A sack is hanging from a rope. The force of gravity pulls downward on the sack; this force is what we call the weight of the sack. If we call the weight the action force then the corresponding reaction force is due to the rope pulling up on the sack. True or False

Answer:True

Step-by-step explanation:

True

When sack is hanging from a rope then gravity pulls it downward but it is attached to the rope and rope does not allow the sack to fall . This process induces a tension in the rope which applies a force on sack in the opposite direction of the weight of sack but equal in magnitude.

This is accordance to Newton third law of motion as for gravitational force there is Tension force which will act on different bodies and action and reaction force respectively.
