Middle Passage and its toll on people:

The first enslaved Africans arrived in Hispaniola in 1501 soon after the Papal Bull of 1493 gave almost all of the New World to Spain

After the Papal Bull of 1493, that is type of public announcement which is an agreement issued by pope Alexander VI on the month on 4th may in the year 1493 which paved the way for arrival of enslaved African in Hispaniola in the 1501 which gave the New World to Spain.

In the 18th Century the slave trade was at very high where interior towns of west Africa was raided and huge number of slaves are captured and held in captives. The Middle Passage is the term refers to slave trade where Africans were ferried from Atlantic to West Indies.
