an experiemntal researcher is attempting to determine if a cognitive intervnetion technique increases social awareness among violent offenders. to mitigate the potential for pretest bias a researcher used two different tests to measure social awareness. The researcher later learns that the two tests were developed to measure separate parts of this concept. what type olf threat to the internal validity of this periments results is this problems

Answer:

If this means that the researcher used two different tests that measure to different parts of the same construct, there simply is no internal validity. Causal inferences cannot be made since the variable measured in pretest is not the same as the one measured in the post test. Even if this variables are theoretically similar, we could not affirm there was a change due to our intervention, since the measurements are different and we have no evidence of change.
